ALRAM opened its first Parliament Bookstore this afternoon. The IDEIA Space will now have a place capable of displaying and making available publications of interest to the Autonomy, as well as merchandising products capable of enhancing cultural dissemination, in the Region and abroad, states a statement.

The new space aims to contribute to the dissemination of Autonomy, within the scope of the Center for Research and Dissemination of Studies and Information on Autonomy (IDEIA).

José Manuel Rodrigues sees this “Livraria Parliament Madeira as another stone for building a historical identity and trying to preserve, conserve and disseminate our collective memory, as a 600-year-old people”.

The president of the Madeiran parliament understands that this is a bet “mainly aimed at the present and the future, and towards achieving more Autonomy”, objectives that fall within the scope of the Center for Research and Dissemination of Studies and Information on Autonomy (IDEA).

José Manuel Rodrigues assured that “this new space aims to collect a documentary collection about the journey of Madeirans, since the 18th century, of trying to conquer that same Autonomy. This bookstore has documents of great value on this topic, which were acquired over the last few years and which will be displayed in the new bookstore. It was a missing piece in the process of bringing elected officials closer to voters, deputies to the people who elect them.”

A new IDEIA publication, the book “XII Legislature (2019-2023): a New Parliament for a New Time”, which summarizes the entire legislature, was also presented at the new “Livraria Parliament Madeira”.

The President of the Madeiran Parliament highlighted that “the book addresses activities linked to the Youth Parliament (of great civic-pedagogical importance); work related to IDEIA; We have the list and brief news of all activities linked to social and cultural events, considered important for the opening of parliament to the community.”
