Igor Silva’s mother will be entitled to compensation worth 165 thousand euros.

The panel of judges considered that Marco Gonçalves, Renato Gonçalves and Paulo Cardoso chased the victim wildly and knew that stab wounds to the back, chest and abdomen could cause death, having acted freely and consciously.

To the stabbings were attributed to Renato and Paulo Cardoso is considered responsible for preventing Igor from escaping.

In his testimony, Renato Gonçalves had only admitted stabbing Igor Silva in the back, but the victim was stabbed 18 times.

O The case happened on May 8, 2022, during the championship celebrations, close to Estádio do Dragão. Igor Silva was transported to the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João, in Porto, but he ended up not surviving.

Diogo Meireles, Miguel Pereira, Rui Costa and Sérgio Machado were also accused, who were eventually acquitted.

The trial included seven defendants accused of qualified homicide, as well as three of offenses against physical integrity and one of possession of a prohibited weapon.
