As usual, Mangualdenses get together every year in the capital of the United Kingdom, for a friendly dinner. Promoted mainly by emigrants from the village of Pedreles, other Mangualdenses from various parts of the municipality join this gathering.
As usual, the Mayor of Mangualde was present among the Mangualdense community.
This year Marco Almeida, mayor of Mangualdense, and councilor Rui Costa, were present, “it is a source of pride for us to have such a strong community in London with such intense connections to our land. It’s always a pleasure to participate in this gathering.”
Contacted by MangualdeOnline, members of the organization confirmed that the objective was exceeded as the number of participants increased compared to the last edition.
“It’s always good to get together, even better when our Mayor, the Councilor, the President of the Parish Council of Fornos de Maceira Dão, the President and other directors of Pedreles Beira Dão FC are present, and also businesspeople from our parish . Their arrival makes us feel closer to our homeland, we feel a little bit happy” – one of the organizers told MangualdeOnline.
Also present at the Mangualdense gathering was the Consul General of Portugal in London, Luís Silva, representing the Ambassador of Portugal in the United Kingdom.
