Three thousand police and firefighters will compete in European games in Braga

The proposed protocol between the chamber and the European Police & Fire Games Association – an international association based in Madrid – which provides for that amount, is debated and voted on on Monday at the meeting of the Executive of councilors.

In this edition, from October 11th to 20th, the competition will include more than 50 events in athletics, swimming, canoeing, rowing, fishing, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, paddle tennis, table tennis, badminton, golf, billiards, chess, petanque, arrows, karting, paintball, judo, ju jitsu, karate, taekwondo, kickboxing, boxing, clay pigeon shooting, precision shooting, archery, cycling, mountain biking, triathlon, orienteering, weightlifting, crossfit, climbing, equestrian , dog competition and bowling.

It also includes a simulation of cycling operations and competitions, ultra-endurance, strength, with animals, firefighter specialties and police specialties.

Speaking to JN, the mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, highlighted that, in addition to promoting tourism, the competition “constitutes an opportunity to pay tribute to all security and civil protection forces for the work they carry out in favor of their communities”.

In addition to the financial contribution, the protocol provides for the provision of material and human resources and facilities, the support of the Braga Sapadores Firefighters and the Municipal Police, as well as all bureaucratic procedures and authorization procedures for the execution of sporting activities and events, especially those held outdoors and on public roads, such as the Inauguration Ceremony, Athletics Races, Cycling Races, among others.
