A driver died in a head-on collision between two cars at km 136 of the Francisco José Ayub highway (SP-264), in the Panorama neighborhood, in Pilar do Sul (SP), on Friday night (26).

According to the police, upon arriving at the scene, the team noticed that the victim’s vehicle, identified as José Lucas Vieira de Paula, aged 32, was heading towards Salto de Pirapora to Pilar do Sul when it entered the opposite lane, hitting a car with two women traveling in the opposite direction. The victims were rescued with minor injuries.

With the force of the impact, José Lucas’ vehicle split in half. The women’s car ended up overturning on the track.

The man was rescued by a rescue team, but arrived unharmed at Santa Casa de Pilar do Sul, police reported. The driver took a breathalyzer test, which came back negative for alcohol consumption.
