Fair of Magos takes place between the 9th and 12th of May in Salvaterra de Magos

Mariza Liz, Soraia Ramos, DAMA and Nininho Vaz Maia are some of the musical highlights of this year’s edition of the Feira de Magos, which takes place from the 9th to the 12th of May.

Organized by the Chamber of Salvaterra de Magos, the Feira de Magos returns from the 9th to the 12th of May with concerts, exhibitions, bullfighting and equestrian activities, entertainment, artisans, local and regional producers and gastronomy. Mariza Liz, Soraia Ramos, DAMA and Nininho Vaz Maia are the highlights of the event’s musical lineup, which has free entry. The opening is on Ascension Thursday, May 9th, at 4pm. The first concert, with Marisa Liz, takes place at 10pm.
On Friday, it will be Soraia Ramos’s turn to take to the fair’s stage for another concert. A cattle drive is scheduled for midnight at the fairgrounds. Saturday, May 11th, there is an Initiation Course in Falconry, at the Falcoaria Real de Salvaterra de Magos, organized by the Portuguese Falconry Association. On the same morning, next to the Chapel of Misericórdia, the blessing of horses and riders taking part in the traditional horseback pilgrimage dedicated to Our Lady of Conception takes place. The initiative will feature a performance by Group 68 of Salvaterra de Magos scouts, and the pilgrimage will only start after 11 am. In the afternoon, at the municipal library, the exhibition opens and awards and diplomas for the Infante D. Luís Prize for the Arts 2024 are presented. At night, DAMA performs and at midnight there is another vacada. A youth night begins at the same time in the Capela Real auditorium, organized by the Salvaterra de Magos 2024 Festivities Commission.
On Sunday, May 12th, the Salvaterra de Magos Bullring will host the Tomato Race at 6pm, organized by the Salvaterra de Magos Bullfighting Management Committee. Nininho Vaz Maia performs at night. The Magicians’ Fair ends with a fireworks session at Cais da Vala Real.
