From May 24th to 26th, the Municipality of Resende will promote a ‘Gastronomic Weekend’an event in partnership with Turismo do Porto and Norte de Portugal, with the sausage roasted in a wood-fired oven and the Cavacas de Resende highlighted.
It will count on the participation of nine restaurants in the municipality, and the program also included the possibility of visiting five farms and wineries, in the heart of the demarcated Douro region, which require prior registration.
The ‘Gastronomic Weekend’ in Resende will also feature music, tastings and wine tasting paired with Resende’s cavacas, and on Saturday, May 25th, visitors will be invited to participate in the Caminhada Romeira, starting at 11 am :00 and which will take participants on a route through Felgueiras, Beirós and Cárquere, ending at the Interactive Tourism Store, in Resende.
On Sunday, May 26th, the highlight was the traditional celebration of the 4th Sunday of May, in Cárquere, a pilgrimage that included a secular ritual that was notable in the diocese of Lamego and the region.
During the three days of the ‘Gastronomic Weekend’ there will also be free guided tours of the Resende Municipal Museum.
