The Coimbra Regional Organization of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) regretted yesterday, through a statement, the position of the current Minister of Justice, Rita Alarcão Júdice, on the new Palace of Justice in Coimbra.
In the statement sent to the media, the PCP “views with concern” the minister’s statements, in which she revealed that the construction of the new Palace of Justice in Coimbra “depends on the sale of State assets”.
The communists, who reiterate that they have defended “for many years, the urgent construction of the new building of the Palace of Justice, in Coimbra, on the land provided for this purpose by the local authority to the Ministry of Justice”, accuse minister Rita Alarcão Júdice of contradicting herself.
“Such statements contradict what was stated in the electoral campaign by the Minister, as a candidate for deputy of the Democratic Alliance for the Coimbra circle, when she promised its construction and stated that this investment was already foreseen in the Multi-Annual Investment Plan in the Area of Justice 2023 -2027, not placing, at the time, any constraints of this nature”, can be read in the PCP statement.
