It reminded me, due to the chosen location, of the 2022 Superspecial… but it didn’t go and it seems that the much-coveted event will not return to Coimbra in the near future. But it was still special that the official starting ceremony of the 57th edition of the Rally of Portugal took place, once again, in the “city of students” and with its downtown and uptown as a “backdrop” or it had not been chosen Avenida Conímbriga as the “stage” for the “show” of the best drivers in the World Rally Championship (WRC).
The afternoon of the “caravan”’s presence in Lusa-Atenas began early with the arrival of the cars, generating the usual interest of people wherever they passed until they reached the place where they would be presented. The colors, the noises and seeing so many of those cars driving around draws attention in itself. With the autograph session, which started at 4pm next to the Monastery of Santa-Clara-a-Velha, an also emblematic and historic space in the city, the opportunity was provided for fans to be closer to the “stars”.
