45-year-old woman dies on Penedo beach in Albufeira

A 45-year-old woman of English nationality died yesterday, after allegedly feeling unwell after getting out of the water, on Penedo beach, in the municipality of Albufeira.

According to the National Maritime Authority, the alert was given at 1:15 pm.

Although the victim underwent resuscitation maneuvers, it was not possible to reverse the situation. The death was eventually declared on the spot, by the INEM doctor, and the body was later transported to the Legal Medical Office of Portimão, by the Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira, after indications from the Public Ministry.

The local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the occurrence.
