The long-awaited series The Acolyte, set in the universe of Star Warsits release date has already been confirmed by Disney+. Fans will be able to dive into the plot from June 4th, when the series will be available for streaming.
Along with the premiere date, a poster for the series was revealed, further increasing fans’ expectations.
The Acolyte takes place approximately 100 years before the events of Episode I – The Phantom Menace, during the era of the High Republic, a period in which the Jedi exercised great influence and diplomacy. However, the series will explore the rise of the dark side of the Force, following a former Padawan on her journey to investigate crimes influenced by sinister forces, alongside her Jedi mentor.
In the Star Wars universe, an “acolyte” is one who prepares to become a Sith Lord, following the legacy of the Sith masters. However, the series highlights Rule Two established by Darth Bane, which dictates that there can only be two Sith – a master and an apprentice – as seen in the case of Palpatine and Darth Vader.
The series will feature a stellar cast including Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dafne Keen and Lee Jung-jae.
Get ready to embark on this new galactic journey when The Acolyte arrives on Disney+ on June 4th, with the first two episodes releasing simultaneously.
