After the Oscars, going to the United States? Justine Triet and Arthur Harari, co-writers, won an Oscar for their screenplay for Anatomy of a Fall. Can the two embark on Hollywood?

As one of the film’s producers explained to RTL, the duo is sought after throughout Hollywood! “She is courted by absolutely all professions, producers, actors, actresses, screenwriters…”says Marie-Ange Luciani, co-producer of the film with David Thion.

And he added: “Spielberg met Arthur and Justine, loved the film, even offered to write a film for him”.

The couple confirmed the producer’s comments on the Oscars red carpet. “Steven Spielberg was crazy, Arthur ended up next to him at Oscar’s lunch table, and they talked for an hour. It turns out he wanted us to meet and ordered us a script, it’s the most absurd thing we’ve ever experienced. What he liked about the film was the very popular side, it was a nice compliment for us, obviously”.

Arthur Harari adds to the Canal+ microphone what Steven Spielberg told them during that meeting: “‘I would like one day to write me a script of this level of complexity’. So I fell off my chair and said to him: ‘But really?’ He told me yes”.

Still speaking to RTL, Marie-Ange Luciani states: “It’s all the time, all the time. I think they’re the most courted couple in Hollywood. But Justine is down to earth.”.

She adds: “She wants to make the next film in France. Maybe take advantage of all these meetings to mix with an international cast, like she did in Anatomy of a Fall. Maybe go even further. But, however, I don’t think she will film immediately in the United States. She knows very well where she is… At this moment, I’m not afraid that she will escape us”.

Recruited by a powerful American agency

As Variety revealed in early February, Justine Triet now has an American agent, which in concrete terms means this could facilitate projects and collaborations in the United States. She signed with one of the most prominent agencies.

I’m talking about the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which manages the careers of Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, George Clooney, among other big Hollywood stars.

Met a few days before the César ceremony, during the nominees’ dinner, Justine Triet told AlloCiné about her state of mind at that moment: “It’s going to be difficult to make a film again afterwards, and accept that success doesn’t necessarily exist every time we do something, but it’s great to experience it this way and a little crazy because the film wasn’t set up for that. It was really thought of as something radical, so it’s even more joyful to experience it all”.

And he added: “I read things… That I was going to make a film with Jennifer Lawrence! I guarantee it, it’s false! I heard things… It’s a little like our world today! That’s something that escapes us a little…. I have to get myself find myself, know what I want to do… I can’t wait to be alone in a tunnel for 2 months and then I can start having ideas. I have plans, but I haven’t had time to get back to them yet”.
