Skeet Ulrich talked about how he almost gave a big Scream spoiler before the film’s release

Much of the success of Panic When it was released in 1996, the public was shocked to discover the killers, something that would continue to be replicated in the other films in the franchise so that false scripts began to be used. However, before the film was released, Skeet Ulrich, who plays Billy Loomis, almost revealed that he was one of the serial killers of history.

In a podcast appearance Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum, Ulrich talked about how he almost revealed that he was going to play a killer in the film directed by Wes Craven.

“That was before these concerns about spoilers and all that,” said the actor. “For some reason I got the completed script and I remember getting the role and I had to do publicity for another movie I had done, and I was doing an interview with Interview Magazine and they asked me what I was going to do next and I said ‘Oh man, I’m going to play this serial killer in this movie and blah blah blah.’ And so I got off the phone and called my agent right away… And they were able to stop it.”

But even with the revelation, Scream still brought several other surprises to viewers at the time, such as the death of Drew Barrymore’s character in the opening scene, who was sold as the protagonist in the film’s marketing.

After appearing in the original film, Ulrich returned to the franchise in Panic, of 2022, as an important part of the plot of Sam (Melissa Barrera), who is revealed to be his daughter.

The next film in the franchise is Panic VII , which after the departure of Barrera, Jenna Ortega and director Christopher Landon, will now bring the return of Neve Campbell and direction by Kevin Williamson.
