Responsible for bringing Cassie Lang to life in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023, actress Kathryn Newton says that the feature film was one of the easiest jobs of her life. According to her, the atmosphere created in the filming studios was very lightresulting in a very fun experience.

The statement came in an interview with CinePOP, in response to a question that asked whether the actress had more difficulties working on the Marvel feature or the horror film Abigail. She explained that the main difference between the two was physicality, as in Quantumania she didn’t interact with many real objects, but mostly green screens.

Filming for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania went smoothly

Ant-Man was the easiest job of my life. It was really fun… and this other [Abigail] It was just as fun, but it was different.”, explained the actress. “We had a real set, we had real objects, real people. So whatever inspiration you have of what’s going on is right there in front of you and I didn’t have to imagine it, there was no green screen.”.

And that was so much more freeing than I was prepared for.,” Newton explained. The Marvel universe film was widely criticized for its excessive use of green screens and special effects, which resulted in an artificial experience. Responsible for introducing the villain Kang (Jonathan Majors) into the MCU, the production was also displeased by the easy way in which he is defeated.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania he was also responsible for introducing the third interpreter that Cassie Lang had in the MCU. At the time Newton was cast in the role, Marvel justified the choice as a way of portraying the real age that the character would be. After playing with missing heroes and time travel, the company decided to hire an actress who better reflected the character’s 18 years of age during the story.

While a new Ant-Man movie seems unlikely at the moment, Cassie could end up appearing in a new Avengers film. Furthermore, The Marvels hinted that the young heroine could join a team made up of names like Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan and Kate Bishop.
