Tyrese Gibson talks about his scenes cut from ‘Morbius’: “I was very DISAPPOINTED”

-

In an interview with CBRthe star Tyrese Gibson commented on the recent feature film ‘Morbius’ and talked about how his character, Simon Stroud, did not appear in the final cut of production with the iconic metallic arm that was shown in the trailer.

“I don’t know. The arm was in the trailer, and I definitely had to put that thing on at least two to three hours a day in the makeup trailer, so, I don’t know.”he said.

“It seemed like it went from ‘this is what we’re going to do’ to some kind of problem they had in post-production. Something. I don’t know. I definitely did a lot of scenes that were cut from the movie. […] I had a fight scene with Matt Smith in London, where we filmed in a park, and it was crazy. My arm was in that whole scene, and they cut it out of the movie – because I don’t think the presence of my arm would have been able to be edited out.”

The star continues: “I definitely asked some questions. It wasn’t cut because of the running time. Usually you miss a few scenes because they’re trying to figure out how to compress [o filme] within a specified time. But yeah, I was really disappointed that they cut that scene. But I’m a grateful man, so I never go into a movie wanting to be the number one guy. I was in every scene every day, so I’m grateful for everything I ended up doing, but I definitely wish that fight scene had made it into the movie.”

During the conversation, Gibson also talked about how grateful he was for the experience of participating in the project and that, if the opportunity arose, he would reprise his role as Simon.

“I don’t know, man, I’m waiting for the call.”said Tyrese about a possible return. “I would be honored to ‘dance’ with [o diretor] Daniel Espinosa and the team again, [e] Jared Leto. Yes, I’d love to. I would love it if that opportunity came up, yes.”

Remembering that the film is available on the Prime Video.

In the plot, Leto transforms into the enigmatic anti-hero Michael Morbius. Seriously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering the same fate, Dr. Morbius risks everything in a desperate gamble. And although at first everything seems like an absolute success, a darkness emerges that is unleashed within him. Will good overcome evil – or will Morbius succumb to his new and mysterious desires?
