There is no infallible recipe for success, but sometimes there are cases as particular as the fact that there are titles that unquestionably fail in theaters, but that later work wonderfully well on streaming. This is the case with The Expendables 4, a historic disaster in theaters that is now sweeping Prime Video in some countries where it was released, such as Spain, for example.
The film starring Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham hit theaters last September with the hope of restoring the glory of a franchise that had already shown clear signs of exhaustion with its third installment. However, The Expendables 4 was a box office failure, grossing just $51.1 million when its budget was $100 million.
Therefore, the possibility of us seeing The Expendables 5 is practically non-existent, since not even the fact that it is the number 1 film on Prime Video since its release, more than a week ago, will compensate for the fact that someone wants to make a million dollar investment in a new edition.
