X-Men ’97 is now showing on Disney+. The continuation of the classic animated series is also the first Marvel Studios/Disney production since mutant rights returned to the House of Ideas itself.
X-Men ’97 premiered on March 20th on Disney+, with much praise from both Marvel fans and specialized critics, who declared that the mutants are back and better than ever.
And this week we had the 8th and second to last episode of the animated series. And in this new episode we had the revelation of a new canonical eventconcept presented in Spider-Man in the Spider-Verse.
In the MCU there is the same concept, but called, for now, absolute moment. As Beast explains in the episode, it is nothing more than an event that repeats itself in all realities, impossible to stop.
Therefore, we discovered in the new episode of X-Men ’97 that the attack on Genosha is a canonical event/absolute moment, something that will happen in any timeline. In fact, it already happened in the comics.
