James Gunn, director of the new Superman film, published the first photo of David Corenswet as the DC comics superhero this Monday (6).

“Superman”, the American’s first film in the role, will be a new beginning for the character in cinemas — and for the publisher’s cinematic universe as a whole. The production has Premiere scheduled for June 11, 2025 in the United States.

In the image, published on Instagram by the filmmaker (and also co-president of DC Studios), the character’s new interpreter appears wearing a singed red and blue uniform and putting on boots.

It is also possible to notice the return of the famous red underwear over the pants, which had disappeared in the version played by Henry Cavill in the last films (and also in the comics for a few years).

“Get ready,” the director wrote in the caption.

In addition to Corenswet, the film will star Rachel Brosnaham (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Dark Phoenix”) as the villain Lex Luthor.
