After showing Fast and Furious 4 in the Afternoon Session last week, TV Globo returns to the franchise with Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, one of the acclaimed spin-offs of the billion-dollar saga, on Tela Quente this Monday (06) .

The plot focuses on Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), a duo with a troubled past, entitled to constant clashes not only because they are initially on opposite sides but, especially, due to each one’s personality.

Now, the duo must join forces to face Brixton (Idris Elba), a genetically altered man who wants to obtain a deadly virus to launch a plan that would kill millions of people in the name of a supposed evolution of humanity. To do so, they count on the help of Hattie (Vanessa Kirby), Shaw’s sister, who is also an agent for MI6, the British secret service.

The second spin-off of the franchise after Tokyo Challenge, the plot has strong science fiction elements from a script that plays with several elements about genetic bioengineering, which places the character as the villain, even making a reference to Superman.

In terms of heroes, with the presence of Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby and Ryan Reynolds, the film features at least 3 major Marvel stars. During recording, Deadpool’s interpreter linked his character, a CIA agent, to Mercenário Tagarela. Furthermore, David Leitch, director of Hobbs & Shaw, directed the antihero’s second film.

Described by the film reviewer at QuandoCinema as “a fun film that manages to find an identity by mixing exaggerated action and a strong tone of debauchery, with a hint of science fiction interspersed with a lot of rivalry”, Hobbs & Shaw airs at 10:25 pm, after the soap opera Renascer.
