Captain Kirk’s interpreter believed that the script for the fourth space adventure film was already ready before the news came to light

Hiring a new screenwriter for the upcoming Star Trek 4 took Chris Pine by surprise. In an interview with Business Insider, the actor revealed that the announcement that Steve Yockey taking on the role in the next film in the franchise left him somewhat astonished.

“I thought I already had a script”Pine told the outlet when the topic came up during the conversation.

Pine’s confusion, who lives the Captain Kirk in the films of Star Trek since 2009, the year in which the most recent wave of film productions in the space saga was released, it is quite understandable. This is because the film has undergone several team changes and creative reformulations since the release of Star Trek: Without Borders (2016), the last feature film released in theaters to date.

It was only in March of this year that the fourth film of Star Trek finally received a green light from Paramount Pictures. However, even with the announcement that Steve Yockey, known for his work on the series The Flight Attendantwill sign the script for the feature film, the production is still taking its first steps.

Star Trek 4 is in development, but updates are scarce.

Still in an interview with Business InsiderPine said that “honestly, you don’t know” of new updates on the development of Star Trek 4:

“There was something in the media about a new writer coming on board. I thought I already had a script, but I think I was wrong, or they decided to change it. As always happened with [Star] Trek, I just wait and see.”

There is also no further information about a release date for Star Trek 4. As for the cast, the expectation is that Chris Pine will return as Kirk, as well as Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldaña, Karl Urban and John Cho also return to live their respective characters in the franchise.
