‘Jeanne DuBarry’biopic starring Johnny Depp (‘Pirates of the Caribbean’) and which had its first official showing on Cannes Film Festival 2023opened last week in North American cinemas – and proved to be a huge failure with the public.
The feature film only grossed US$360 at the box office and did not even enter the TOP 50 on the American circuit.
The project cost US$22.4 million and, worldwide, raised only US$13.8 millionbecoming one of the biggest failures of 2023/2024 and of Depp’s own career.
The film is not yet scheduled to arrive in Brazil.

‘Jeanne DuBarry‘ tells the story of Jeanne Bécua woman who was born into poverty, but who rose through social ranks in the court of King Louis XV, and became the monarch’s mistress.
The actress and filmmaker Maïwenn plays Jeanne and also acts as the director of the film, while Depp will be in the shoes of King Louis XV, also known as “Luís, the Well Beloved”.
Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Melvil Poupaud, Indian Hair, Suzanne de Baecque, Capucine Valmary, Pauline Pollmann, Micha Lescot It is Laura Le Velly also makes up the cast.
