Regarding the departure of MC Pipokina from the line-up of the Unesp party, the Interuniversity League of University Sports (Lieu) said that the event “comes from an institution that represents the public university and its need for appreciation along with education in Brazil”.
The funk singer MC Pipokinha has already had at least seven shows canceled after making a video in which she makes fun of teachers’ salaries. She missed performances in RN, SC, DF, ES, RO, MG and SP. Understand the case below:

1 – What were the canceled shows so far?
Most of the events have a university audience or are organized directly by student groups. In this context, her mockery of teachers becomes even more serious.
The Integra Inter student party, in Araraquara, for example, justified that “the event aims to be a plural and diverse space, coming from an institution that represents the public university and its need for appreciation along with education in Brazil”
2 – What was Pipokinha’s statement?
MC Pipokinha made fun of teachers’ work and salaries in response to a fan on Instagram, who had said that he argued with a teacher because of the funk artist.
“Being a teacher you have to love the profession a lot, because you hear abuse from other people’s children, there’s nothing to do at home anyway, you have to be a teacher. And still receive what a teacher receives, which is almost nothing. … just being a teacher”, said the funk artist.
And he added: “My dance costs R$ 70,000: 30 minutes on stage, I earn R$ 70,000. She doesn’t even earn R$ 5,000 being a teacher sometimes. She needs to study a lot”.

The singer’s legal team states that she “unfortunately, has been suffering numerous gratuitous attacks on the internet, due to being active in issues of female empowerment and because she is constantly growing in the media, and upon hearing words supposedly spoken by another woman, she expressed herself in a dubious way, thus giving chance to pejorative interpretations that were distorted from their real intention”.
4 – Who is MC Pipokinha?
The singer from Santa Catarina Doroth Helena de Sousa Alves is 24 years old, grew up in Tubarão (SC) and lives in São Paulo. She is the daughter of Mormon parents and went to SP without a home to become a funk singer.

She sings bold sexual lyrics with an aggressive vocal to the sound of the bursting beats of street funk, a style known as “mandelão”, in tracks like “Bota na Pipokinha”, “Eu sou a MC Pipokinha” and “Tira as Crianças da sala”. .
“It’s not because I’m better”, explained the singer who causes astonishment with the aggressive sexual movements of her funk show. “But because I’m smart,” she adds.
The idea, according to the MC, is to connect the lyrics to the stage. “It’s as if the story were the music, and what I present in my show was a theater”, she says. “As if it were a fucking musical”, she defines.
Onstage, her dancers pick up fans who qualify to participate, throw them up and down, slap them and pelvic thrusts. Pipokinha appears wearing a crown and proclaims herself “queen of bitching”. The scenes of sexual beatings (consented by the fans) reverberated on the networks.
