The capital of Minas Gerais should start the month of April with heat. This Monday (1), according to the Municipal Civil Defense, Belo Horizonte has a minimum temperature forecast of 17 °C with a maximum of 30 °C. Relative air humidity is around 50% in the afternoon.
According to Climate Weather, throughout the month of April, the weather in Brazil should have temperatures above average in some regions.

The Institute also highlights the trend towards a total weakening of the phenomenon during April and the entry into the neutrality phase – without El Niño and La Niña during the month. La Niña is likely to develop between June/August 2024 – with its action focused more on the winter in Brazil.

El Niño and La Niña are cyclical phenomena of oceanic-atmospheric interaction. Both phenomena occur in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Peru, but one is the opposite of the other.
El Niño is characterized by the warming of water in the Equatorial Pacific off the Peruvian coast by at least 0.5°C above the normal average temperature for at least three consecutive quarters. In 2023, Brazil experienced several heat waves, where thermometers in some cities reached 40°.
2023 was the hottest in 174 years, according to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) report.
La Niña is characterized by the cooling of the water in the Equatorial Pacific off the Peruvian coast by at least 0.5°C below the normal average temperature and for at least three consecutive quarters.
