Keeping an eye on the sea of people who must go to Copacabana Beach to watch Madonna’s show at the end of the Celebration Tour, on May 4th, the kiosks on the beachfront now offer seats with a view of the stage and security, as well as food, drink and comfort. With more than a month to go until the show, one of them has already sold part of the tickets, each one a R$ 1.1 thousand.
Businessman Pedro Assy, owner of the Cabanna kiosk, states that the intention is to offer peace of mind for fans to follow the show. The scheme is similar to other dates, such as New Year’s Eve and DJ Alok’s show, last year, at the centenary celebration of the Copacabana Palace hotel.
“It’s not a box, but a good place to watch the show with drinks, food and security,” said Pedro. The businessman’s kiosk has space to accommodate 120 people and, since the show was confirmed, it has already sold 40 seats.
g1 contacted 2 other points on the Copacabana waterfront that are close to where the stage will be located. One of them was already making reservations for the pop singer’s performance. The other planned to start sales next week.
“The demand is increasing. Every day there are around 10 people asking and asking for information”, said Assy.
Confirmation of singer Madonna’s show causes tourism boom in Rio de Janeiro
Pedro’s kiosk has 14 employees, all of whom are, in some way, involved in the “Madonna in Copa” operation. Even those who will not perform during the show are involved in the preparations. The expectation is that 3 more employees will be called on the night of the queen of pop’s show.
The businessman says that many of the customers who have already purchased seats are from São Paulo.
The package includes snacks such as chips and snacks and drinks such as water, beer, soft drinks and caipirinhas.
In addition to boosting the kiosks, Madonna’s arrival is boosting the neighborhood’s economy.
The hotels on the Copacabana waterfront have more than 75% of their rooms occupied for the weekend of the show. The expectation is to reach 100% occupancy by May 4th. The movement is atypical for the low season period.
“The hotels are full, people come from all over the country. People pass by, shop and eat, buy souvenirs. We hope that the issue of security will be welcomed by public authorities”, concludes Pedro Assy.
