Rio – Madonna shared a video on her social networks last Sunday (28), saying goodbye to the world tour “The Celebration”, which celebrates her 40th year of career, with an excerpt from her show in Mexico. This left Brazilian fans confused, as the final performance takes place free of charge on Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, next Saturday (04).

The singer wrote in the caption of the post on her Instagram profile: “The last show of the tour ended in Mexico City in the most magical way. Frida Kahlo came to visit me and made me the happiest girl in the world! Not only was my show complete in Mexico, but throughout my artistic career, as she has always been my eternal muse.”

She also thanked actress Salma Hayek for making this possible by dressing up as the painter, and all her fans around the world. Many comments appeared on the post, with some fans joking about the singer’s commitment to Brazil next Saturday and expressing anxiety about what’s to come. “What’s the last show, daughter? Saturday you have to work, okay? Stay smart”, joked one.

“The last show will be in Rio, don’t act crazy”, commented another. “Now the grand finale in Brazil. The best comes last, right, guys?!”, wrote another. Despite the confusion due to the use of the term “last” in the post, the singer has confirmed her performance in Brazil, scheduled to start between 9:30 pm and 9:45 pm.

The stage is being set up in front of the Copacabana Palace hotel, on Copacabana beach. Although the song list has not yet been released, the show is expected to be around two hours long and represent the conclusion of the singer’s world tour. There will be no division among the general public.

A diverse audience is expected, including tourists from different parts of Brazil and the world, as this will be Madonna’s only show in South America. It is estimated that more than a million people will attend the event.

This is the fourth time that Madonna has performed in Brazil, the last time being 12 years ago. Previous performances have included ‘The Girlie Show’ tour in 1993, the ‘Sticky and Sweet Tour’ in 2008 and ‘MDNA’ in 2012. The Copacabana Beach performance will be the singer’s only show in all of South America.
