After BTS became the target of malicious defamation attempts, BIGHIT Music has strengthened legal measures to protect the group’s rights

BIGHIT MUSIC, an agency that manages the career of BTSannounced that it will take legal measures to guarantee the group’s rights.

In the statement released last Sunday, 28th, through the Weverse platform, the company revealed that there was an increase in speculation and information released to defame artists, and that, for these cases, BIGHIT MUSIC has a zero tolerance policy, and will deal with situations “rigorously, without leniency or agreements”.

Read the full statement below:

Hello.

This is BIGHIT Music.

We wish to update you on the legal procedures being taken to protect the rights of BTS members.

It has come to our attention that organizational efforts aimed at smearing and slandering artists have increased in recent weeks. Furthermore, malicious attempts to defame, humiliate and ridicule artists or spread rumors and unfounded information have become rampant.

The company considers these actions to be a serious violation of artists’ rights and will respond decisively by engaging with another law firm to reinforce our existing legal measures.

We are collecting evidence of malicious posts through real-time monitoring as we speak. We will maintain a zero tolerance policy and deal with this matter rigorously, without leniency or compromise.

Thanks.”

In the statement, the company does not go into details about the retaliations that the group has been subject to. Yet recently, BTS has been the center of a series of accusations of chart manipulation, theft of creative concepts, and even cult membership.

Furthermore, BTS has also been mentioned in several accusations that arise in the HYBE X ADOR case, such as having emerged as a plagiarized idea from the CEO of ADOR, Min Hee Jinor even, the controversy that arose on social media after the new solo album by RM, “Right Place, Wrong Person”, has a date confirmed by BIGHIT for the same day and month as NewJeans’ comeback: May 24th. However, none of these accusations have been confirmed.

It is worth remembering that the dispute between HYBE and ADOR began after the conglomerate called for an audit to investigate the agency’s management due to suspicions that the CEO Min Hee Jin would be planning to transform ADOR into an independent company.
