Monique Alfradique, 38, went to Leblon beach, in Rio de Janeiro, this Thursday (2), one day after being mistaken for Madonna, 65. The actress was doing a photoshoot wearing a cowboy hat and blonde hair waves at the Copacabana Fort, when she went viral after being mistaken for the singer.
Wearing two buns in her hair and with a more fitness and less Queen of Pop production, Monique was on the beach to record the documentary BeachLife.
The Madonna of Niterói
Monique was at the Copacabana Fort when the news that Madonna, 65, had walked through the place, went viral on social media.
To explain the confusion, she recorded a video on her Instagram Stories, this Wednesday (1st). “I’m recording my show BeachLife and I received some news that Madonna was recording at Forte de Copacabana yesterday. Like this? I was recording at Forte de Copacabana. How did I not see her there?” he asked.
Afterwards, she said that she opened the images that caused the confusion. “When I saw the photos, who was Madonna? I, the Madonna of Niterói,” said Monique, citing the city where she was born in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. “Unfortunately, whoever thought it was Madonna, I have to say it wasn’t her.”
The North American pop star arrived in Brazil on Monday (29) and will perform at Copacabana Beach on Saturday (4). Monique Alfradique confirmed that she will follow the presentation live. “I want to say that I loved being confused. She is a reference for an authentic, strong, independent woman… I have always been a fan of hers. I’ll be at the show on Saturday and here’s the invitation: Madonna, do you want to record the BeachLife with me? At Copacabana Fort? This time, for real,” she suggested.
