Madonna has been in Rio de Janeiro since last Monday (29) to perform on Copacabana beach next Saturday (4), but has not interacted much with Brazilians. As far as we know, the singer also does not intend to give interviews to the press.

The situation was different on other visits by the pop diva to Brazil. During her tours, Madonna spoke to journalists and presenters such as Marília Gabriela, Zeca Camargo, Luciano Huck, Glória Maria and Xuxa. Each one found a different Madonna.

The singer created a reputation among presenters for being in a different “spirit” at each meeting. Some conversations turned controversial due to the pop diva’s monosyllabic responses. In others, she was friendly, assuming more of her stage “star” personality.

In 1995, Madonna spoke with Marília Gabriela for De Frente com Gabi (SBT) in an interview that was marked by the “climate” that the singer provoked. She was monosyllabic when answering several questions about the album “Ray of light”, but mainly about her personal life.

Marília Gabriela even defined the conversation as the most frustrating of her career. “I went through that trouble at the time, I was sad,” said the journalist in a recent interview with Sheet.

In an interview with Paulo Henrique Amorim on Fantástico, in 1995, Madonna was more open when talking about her personal life, even revealing an attraction to Latin men. The singer even said that she was not wearing panties in the interview when arguing that she could not present the item to the journalist, as she had done to another journalist months before.

In 1998, she was interviewed by Xuxa in Miami for Planeta Xuxa. Even with the queen of short people, Madonna did not stop giving her monosyllabic answers. At the time, the presenter asked her about having said, in Portuguese, “dirty ass” in one of her shows. The singer then responded that it was the team’s idea.

“Because my choreographer is Portuguese and he said I should say that, so I just said it. I’m very obedient,” she said.

In 2000, Madonna gave an interview to Brazilian MTV and spoke with Marina Person about the album “Music”. The singer spoke a little about her process, about the album and about her relationship with instruments in a more technical conversation.
