The legendary Ozzy Osbourne is one of the greatest icons of Heavy Metal and recorded immortal classics of the style, whether in his solo career or with Black Sabbath. According to the article in question, the British singer and songwriter tried to enlist in the British Army when he was young, for a very curious reason (and questionable, it must be said).

“I was 17 years old, I was upset, I wanted to see the world and shoot as many people as possible,” said the Prince of Darkness, who fortunately didn’t get what he wanted.

“How far did I get? About five feet from the damn front door. They just sent me away. They told me, ‘We want subjects, not objects.’ neck like jewelry, I was wearing a pajama shirt as a jacket (…) and I hadn’t showered in months”, added Ozzy, who tried to join the army for a noble reason.

“For years, my mother said, ‘When are you going to put aside this rock ‘n’ roll nonsense and get a real job?’ And my father said, ‘You need to learn a trade – he was a toolmaker and I thought joining the army would please you.”

In the end, Ozzy was released and entered the world of heavy music. His most recent work is “Patient Number 9”, released in September 2022.
