Bruno Mars tells Fantástico the nickname he gained in Brazil and upcoming shows in the country
“Bruninho” is back! Pop phenomenon Bruno Mars has announced that he will be back in Brazil for a season of four shows in October. In conversation with correspondent Candice Carvalho for Fantástico this Sunday (5), the artist promised surprises for Brazilian fans (watch the full interview in the video above).
The interview took place in one of the most iconic spots in the city of Las Vegas, in the United States, the Hotel Belaggio. The city was the place that hosted the artist’s most shows around the world.
“They told me that artists came here to retire. I always wanted to change that. I wanted to build something here,” said the singer.
Bruno Mars recalled the surprise he made during the last time he was in Brazil for The Town, in 2023, when he played “Evidências”, by Chitãozinho & Xororó. And he suggested something new. “Who knows, maybe we’ll do a contest: which song do you want John to sing? [tecladista de Bruno] Play for everyone to sing along?'”.
He said that shows in Brazil are always different because of the energy of the people. And he said he was passionate about the country.
“I fell in love with a part of Brazil when I was a child. My father took me to the cinema to see a film about capoeira. And from then on I started dreaming about one day going to Brazil”, he said.
In 2024, the artist will celebrate his birthday in Brazilian lands during a show, on October 8th, and promises surprises:
“Bruninho is back. Bigger and better than ever… But now, it’s going to be Brunão!!,” he said.
