Did you know that the smallest couple in the world is Brazilian? So it is. Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros, 90 cm, and Katyucia Lie Hoshino, 91, are married and hold the Guinness World Records record for the smallest couple in the world.
Together, the two are 181 cm tall. They met in 2008 in Londrina, Paraná, and got married in September 2016. The record was recognized in November 2016, in Itapeva, São Paulo.
“It wasn’t love at first sight, but I think love was born and conquered. Our wedding was beyond what we dreamed of”, said Katyucia.
In an interview with Guinness World Recordsthey said that the biggest difficulty is the lack of accessibility related to height, in addition to the prejudice they face daily.
“The biggest difficulty we have is with the height of doors, handles, windows, elevators, banks, ATMs. Prejudice is also something that cannot be ruled out, because society itself is prejudiced,” he reported.
In the social media, the couple has 104 thousand followers on Instagram @omenorcasaldomundo. For Paulo, the best part of being the smallest couple in the world is the affection from the public.
“The best part is the recognition and affection that the people give us,” he said.
