Rio Grande do Sul is facing one of the biggest climate calamities in its recent history, with intense and persistent rains causing havoc across the state. Faced with this scenario, an extensive network of local media outlets came together to launch the “Manifesto of Solidarity and Aid to Rio Grande do Sul”, an initiative that aims to mobilize resources and accurate information in response to the crisis.

The vehicles involved in the initiative include Portal Leouvé, Grupo Oceano, Portal Gás, Portal Folha do Mate, Rádio Terra FM 104.3 from Santa Rosa (RS), Portal MetSul Meteorologia, Portal Rádio Independente, Acústica FM 97.7 from Camaquã (RS), Portal Litoral Mania, Portal Porto Alegre 24 hours, Portal Santa Maria 24 hours, Portal O Correio, Clima Ao Vivo, Rádio Uirapuru FM 102.3 from Passo Fundo (RS), Portal SP Rio+, Portal Giro Marília and Portal Hora de Campinas.

This manifesto highlights the importance of reliable communication and the vital role that local media outlets play in keeping the population informed and guided on how to assist and participate in actions to support affected communities. The media outlets are committed to reporting the situation with rigor and sensitivity, providing not only information, but also being a platform for donation campaigns and community mobilization.

The coordination of informative content is carried out by the Alright team on the #AjudaRS page. A QRCode that forwards to donations and the official SOS Rio Grande do Sul account stands out on this page, with a reactivated PIX key (CNPJ: 92.958.800/0001-38) to facilitate financial contributions.

This collaboration between different media outlets reflects a deep commitment to rebuilding and strengthening impacted communities, demonstrating that, in times of adversity, solidarity is the greatest strength we have. The response from the journalistic community in Rio Grande do Sul is an eloquent example of how unity and correct information are essential to overcoming challenges and building a better future.

The portal tudoradio.com has been highlighting the work of Rio Grande do Sul radio stations in covering the climate event and provided a section where it is possible to access the players of all radio stations in the state that provide internet access. With the aim of informing and providing services to the population in the interior of the state, several radio stations continue to be on duty to respond to adverse weather conditions in affected cities.

At this critical moment, Rio Grande do Sul faced one of the most serious climate disasters in its history. Intense and incessant rains devastate the state, causing an alarming rise in rivers, penetration of land and blockages on railway roads, bringing desolation and difficulties to thousands of families in Rio Grande do Sul.

The situation demands an immediate and supportive response from all of us. Therefore, we call on the community — companies, entities and every citizen — to participate in this stream of support. Every contribution, small or large, makes a significant difference.

We also understand the importance of being careful with the amount of information in circulation and the need for security, verification and quality in what reaches the country’s population. To this end, we advise monitoring the coverage carried out by local news outlets in an effort to inform about the consequences of the tragedy, with due respect and rigorous purification, as well as to strengthen the solidarity network in favor of the affected citizens in Rio Grande do Sul .

Together, we will support, rebuild and strengthen all affected communities.
