The BBC shared the statement from the Metropolitan Police where it can be seen that the “serious” attack took place in the East of London, in Hainault, the police said that the 36-year-old man had a sword and that he has already been arrested.
“We were called just before 7am after reports of a vehicle crashing into a house in the Thurlow Gardens area. There were also reports of people being stabbed,” the statement read.
It is now known that several citizens and two police officers were attacked, and at the moment there are no updates on their health status.
O Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan said the attack “must have been frightening for those involved” and that he knows the community must be “in alarmed shock”. But as soon as they have information they will share it with the population, adding that the authorities do not believe there are any further threats to the community. “We are not looking for additional suspects. This incident does not appear to be a terrorist attack.”
The British newspaper also states that Hainault station is closed and that the streets around the site are closed to traffic.
