At the end of the PS national commission, the party leader argued that the socialists did more than the Government of Montenegro in 30 days. “In 30 days they were unable to make a decision of value to the Portuguese people”, criticized Pedro Nuno Santos.

The leader of the PS, Pedro Nuno Santos, today accused the Government of being “the biggest focus of instability” and of having demonstrated unpreparedness in the first 30 days, considering it to be the worst start to government in memory.

“These first 30 days of Government are worrying because if I try to summarize it in two words, the only thing that comes to mind: instability and political incapacity. In 30 days they were unable to make a decision of value to the Portuguese people”, criticized Pedro Nuno Santos in statements to journalists at the end of the PS National Commission meeting.

According to the PS secretary general, Luís Montenegro’s executive “is in combat” when what is needed is for him to govern.

“I have no memory of a Government having started so badly in office and therefore do not divert responsibilities to those in parliament who are doing their part and their work. The PS, over these 30 days, was a factor of stability and responsibility”, she emphasized.

Pedro Nuno Santos accused the Government of being “at the moment the biggest focus of instability in Portugal” and of being “a bad Government”.

“It’s 30 days, it’s true. 30 days is not enough to solve the country’s problems, but it is clear that this Government does not have the capacity to govern Portugal. On the contrary”, he argued, accusing the executive of “promoting an environment of instability and then trying to hold others responsible”.

For the PS leader, the governance of the PSD/CDS-PP coalition was incapable of providing stability and hope to the country, having, on the contrary, promoted “this instability and demonstrated this unpreparedness at several levels”.
