Sporting became national football champions today for the 20th time, benefiting from Benfica’s 2-0 defeat to Famalicão, on the 32nd round of the I League, to reach the title.
With this result, Sporting, who on Saturday beat Portimonense at home (3-0), will once again win the title, after the last one in 2020/21, adding 84 points, eight more than Benfica, when they are only two rounds to be played.
As soon as the Benfica game ended in Famalicão, many entities and personalities rushed to congratulate the lions.
