After missing the FA Cup semi-final game against Chelsea, Haaland will also not be an option for Pep Guardiola in Manchester City’s duel with Brighton. The confirmation was given by the Spanish coach, who also announced the return of Phil Foden and John Stones to the competition.

“Erling Haaland is not ready for tomorrow, the other two – they are ready,” said the City manager. “I know it’s not a big problem, but he can’t take part in this game,” said Guardiola.

In the same statements, the Spanish coach also praised Roberto de Zerbi’s Brighton.

“Brighton, if you put it on my calendar, is one of the most difficult because of the way we play,” he said. «[Fica] harder. My admiration grows with each season. They had a lot of problems, important players like Colwill, Caicedo, Mac Allister were sold. They were really important players. They suffered a lot of injuries and played in three competitions, but the way they play is always there. He is doing an incredible job at Brighton,” he said.
