AJust three days after winning the Portuguese Roller Hockey Cup, FC Porto ended up ‘slipping’ in the championship, this Wednesday, at home to OC Barcelos (4-4), meaning the advantage in the lead for the Sporting now has just two points heading into the final round of the regular phase.
In the opening stretch of the match of the 25th round, Luís Querido opened the scoring for the Minho emblem, with just half a dozen minutes having passed, having seen Gonçalo Alves react (8′) before the 1-2 scored by Poka (9′ ).
The first half entered a calmer rhythm, until ‘turbulence’ ensued. Alvarinho scored OC Barcelos’ third in the 18th minute, but the Dragons’ response was immediate, through Carlo di Benedetto (19′) and Rafa Costa (21′), making it 3-3 at half-time.
The team defeated in the Portuguese Cup final didn’t want to stay for three goals and ‘outwitted’ FC Porto again, at the start of the second half, with Alvarinho’s brace, but Ezequiel Mena scored the final 4-4.
With this result, FC Porto is the leader, with 62 points, two more than Sporting, one day before the end of the regular phase of the championship, followed by Oliveirense, with 58, and Benfica, with 56. OC Barcelos is sixth, with 41.
