André Villas-Boas and his management and financial teams are making every effort to accelerate the process of transition of powers and, accordingly, today there will be a meeting in the early afternoon with Fernando Gomes, outgoing financial administrator, to that the various portfolios relating to the club and, above all, SAD, are passed quickly.
To expedite the immediate entry of a man André Villas-Boas trusts into SAD — the chosen one would be CFO Pereira da Costa — it is necessary for a member of the current Board of Directors to resign and Fernando Gomes has already demonstrated his availability for the to do, he was the one who communicated to Pinto da Costa a long time ago his unavailability to remain in office. There is another possibility that would involve the wholesale dismissal of administrators, but this desire has not been expressed in the conversations that are being held, especially by Pinto da Costa, Adelino Caldeira, Vítor Baía and Luís Gonçalves. There is, therefore, concern on the part of André Villas-Boas and his team to resolve this setback as soon as possible, as there are several structuring dossiers such as the renewal of Sérgio Conceição’s contract, the commercial agreement with Ithaka or the Academia da Maia process that need to be addressed for the common good of FC Porto.
New governing bodies take office 10 days after the elections
If Fernando Gomes resigns, Pereira da Costa could immediately be co-opted into the Administration and make the transition to André Villas-Boas’ new team. Lourenço Pinto, president of the SAD AG Board, refuses to call a SAD General Assembly before the Board takes office, when it could have already done so.
