Sergio Conceiçãocoach of FC Porto, addressed – in a press conference previewing the match against Chaves – one of the most discussed topics in recent days: the new presidency of André Villas-Boas, the embrace between «the presidents» and the «controversial statement » from Iván Jaime’s agency.

The Porto coach appeared cautious and admitted, once again, that he was willing to speak with André Villas-Boas.

Sérgio Conceição in direct speech

The hug between Pinto da Costa and André Villas-Boas: «I don’t have to put any subtitles. It is the president who lost the elections, the other who won. The passing of testimony will take place. But I have to focus on what’s important and live a little outside this noise and this period of our club. Now, I like to see two people hugging each other [risos]»

Has there already been a conversation with Villas-Boas? «This reminds me of the treaty of Zamora, in 1143, I think between D. Afonso Henrique and his cousin. It’s a normal conversation between a president and a club employee, who is the coach. Any questions that André Villas-Boas wants to talk to me about, I will answer. But he will speak to several club employees and I think it is absolutely normal. I don’t see anything strange [na conversa].»

About the statement from Iván Jaime’s agency: «The technical team decides what to do depending on the production and work of the athletes. Several different groups can work and we have a large professional team. All this noise has nothing to do with me. I make my choices and my work. I saw the statement, but I didn’t read it.”
