10 games later – and in Lito Vidigal’s fifth game – Feirense returned to winning ways (1-0) and breathes (a little) better in the league table. Henrique Jocú, with a header, was decisive and placed the emblem of Santa Maria da Feira – in a provisional form – just one point behind Oliveirense and two behind Leixões.

Regarding the game, the first 45 minutes of great personality from the Santa Maria da Feira team. Pressuring, aggressive and offensive. Lito Vidigal came with the same team that lost in stoppage time on the last round, but the damage – mentally – was not felt. On the contrary, the team appeared reinvigorated.

After a lot of insistence – and an incredible failure by Antoine in the 13th minute – Feirense opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Following a corner kick to the near post, Guilherme Ferreira deflected and placed the ball with precision to Henrique Jocú who, with a header, finished with great quality. UD Leiria – not very dynamic until the goal – responded through Jair, but the real answer only came in the second half.

In the space of a minute, at 47′ to be precise, Filipe Cândido’s team gave two serious warnings: Valdir, with a very strong shot already inside the area, and Bura – after a corner – headed slightly wide. After these two moves, the game calmed down – despite Leiria’s very strong entry -, and Jair was the most dangerous on the visiting side, with two dangerous headers.

Until the end, Leiria pressed forward – they were the ones who looked for the goal most -, but Feirense remained cohesive, concentrated, organized and very capable defensively, whether pressing high or defending low.
