Sporting reported, this Sunday, that Franco Israel underwent surgery on his right knee, one day after the victory over Portimonense, for the third to last round of the League.
«Athlete Franco Israel underwent surgery today, Sunday, to treat a meniscal injury in his right knee. The surgery was successfully carried out at CUF Hospital by the Sporting Clube de Portugal orthopedics medical team”, the lions announced.
The Uruguayan goalkeeper started against the Algarve team, in what was his 23rd game of the season.

Israel assumed the starting role due to the unavailability of Antonio Adán, who at the beginning of March suffered a muscle injury to his left thigh. The Spanish goalkeeper is in the final stages of recovery, but is still in the medical department.
