The appearances of Arthur Cabral and Florentino already seemed certain, as both had already completed warm-up exercises and were already gearing up, when Roger Schmidt approached Rafa, sitting on the bench, and indicated that he would enter the second half. Moments later, Tiago Gouveia approached Benfica’s top scorer this season and, also visibly surprised, seemed to ask him if he was going to come in, implying that, unlike the other substitutions, Rafa’s was not planned in the locker room.
The game would end with a 2-0 victory for the Famalicenses.
