Pinto da Costa’s last trophy as president of FC Porto was won by the goalball team. This Monday, the still leader of the dragons received the title at the club’s Museum and said it was a “huge pleasure”.
“It is a great pleasure, on the eve of ceasing to be president of FC Porto, to come here to this museum to receive the last trophy won by FC Porto under my management. You are an example for all of us. Not just for the directors, but for the whole of society, for your tenacity, for your enthusiasm, for your way of overcoming life, of overcoming difficulties. And therefore, what I want to tell you is not thanks for this trophy, it is thanks for your example, which you give me. to me, to everyone, and tell you that it was a pleasure to be able to create and help this adapted sports section”, he said, speaking to Porto Canal, adding that he hopes it will continue.
“You deserve everything that FC Porto does for you and, although I am not present here, I leave a special word to Joana Teixeira, who is an example of solidarity and love for others. Many congratulations to everyone for the cup and for the example that you give us all,” he added.
It should be remembered that, this Tuesday, André Villas-Boas takes office as president of FC Porto.
