The incredible images of the arrival of the Olympic flame in the city of Marseille

-

A Olympic flame arrived in the French city of Marseille on Wednesday afternoon, after 12 days of travel from Greece, aboard the three-masted ship Belem.

Thousands of people were present at the port of Marseille, the city that will host the Paris 2024 sailing events, to watch this ceremony of the arrival of the Olympic cauldron, which will now begin its journey towards the capital Paris. All this with 79 days left until the start of the Olympic Games.

Florent Manaudou, Olympic champion in the 50 meter freestyle in London in 2012, carried the flame on the boat and was the first bearer of the flame on French soil. Shortly afterwards, the former swimmer passed the Olympic cauldron to French Paralympic athletics champion Nantenin Keita, who, in turn, passed it on to French rapper Jul.
