Since António Adán and Franco Israel are simultaneously injured, Sporting will enter the field in Estoril with a completely renewed goal. Rúben Amorim confirmed Diogo Pinto’s ownership, before giving light on other possible debuts.

«Adán is still injured and cannot play. Franco underwent surgery and is out for the rest of the season. O [Diogo] Pinto will be the starter”, he began at a press conference.

«Francisco [Silva] will be in the bank and the [Guilherme] Pires as third goalkeeper. We trust everyone. We aim to help a boy who has grown up here and is going to make his debut for the main team. It’s a big weight. Obviously the context will help, because we were already champions. Everyone knows he is prepared to help us keep clean sheets.”

Still on the possible debuts of young people in an already champion Sporting, Amorim revealed that Geovany Quenda he will not have that chance, as there is a certainty that he will be champion in the future, but others, like Miguel Menino, will have the “visibility” prize:

«There could be a situation where a kid who grew up here and it won’t be Quenda. There are other kids whose future could lie elsewhere due to their age. We pay more attention to this. Kids who helped us a lot in training, who didn’t have the visibility of others, who maybe aren’t in our minds for next year,” he said, before revealing a name.

“O [Miguel] Menino will be called up, Quenda will not, because he will have time to be champion with Sporting.”
