Microsoft has begun distributing the Moment 5 update for Windows 11 to users who have chosen to receive updates for the operating system as quickly as possible. Optional software updates that are not linked to security issue resolution will be distributed during the month of March. All other users with compatible devices will receive the update on ‘Patch Tuesday’ in April.

The Moment 5 update is relatively small and focuses mainly on improving accessibility issues, content sharing, screen image output and system settings. This update also includes improvements to the Windows Autopatch feature to give system administrators more control over update management.

The main features of the Moment 5 update for Windows are as follows:

Voice Access supports more languages, custom commands, and additional actions;

The Narrator now allows you to hear the voices used, use a keyboard shortcut to hear image descriptions, among other new features;

Windows now allows you to share content with more applications;

Windows may suggest sending screen content to another device when you are in multitasking mode;

Snap Layout can predict which applications the user will organize and in which layout;

New features for Windows 365, such as a dedicated mode, passwordless authentication, and quick switching between usage accounts.

If you want to see a full list of features coming with the Moment 5 update, visit the Windows technical support page on the Microsoft website.

If you don’t want to wait until April to receive this update, you can install it from now on. To do this, go to ‘Settings’, click on ‘Windows Update’ in the left column and turn on the option ‘Get the latest updates as soon as they are available’.

Please note that new features are being rolled out gradually, so it may take a few days before you receive the Moment 5 update.
