Samsung Galaxy S25 could arrive with a bigger screen: revolution or disappointment?

The base models of the Galaxy S series have always been considered compact smartphones with smaller screens. But it seems that in the next generation, Samsung wants the Galaxy S25 to arrive with a larger screen.

Bigger, but not in a generous size that will surprise or remove it from the compact smartphone category.

Samsung Galaxy S25 screen will increase by just 0.16 inches

South Korean blogger Yeux1122 is saying that the base Galaxy S25’s screen will go from 6.2 inches to 6.36 inches. In practice, this update translates into an increase of just 0.16 inches in the current size.

If this information is confirmed, the Galaxy S25 will have a screen the same size as the Xiaomi 14 (6.36 inches) and will be larger than the Google Pixel 8, which is 6.2 inches.

In fact, this insignificant increase in screen size could be a market strategy to match or surpass its most direct rivals from Xiaomi and Google.

Galaxy S24 also had the right to a larger screen

This option for a larger screen on the base model of the premium series has already been applied to the Galaxy S24. Remember that the current model has a 6.2-inch screen while its predecessor displays 6.1 inches.

The Galaxy S24 is also slightly taller than the Galaxy S23. Samsung has been opting for small updates, never removing the compact status of its premium base model.

It should be noted that this increase in the diagonal of the screen will not necessarily translate into an increase in the size of the terminal. It is more likely that a slightly different ratio will be displayed.

This is a feature that Samsung has not made changes to since 2022, always maintaining the base terminals with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It may be that in 2025 the brand will update this attribute.
