Despite Microsoft admitting difficulties, the company has not yet said that it should stop investing in physical media. In turn, after some rumors, an image appears of a new model of the Xbox Series X without the famous disc player.
The photos of the Xbox Series X without the disc player were received by the website eXputer, which did not reveal its source. The console is practically identical to the original model, but it is white and attracts attention, logically, because its front is practically smooth with just the Xbox logo, USB input and the button to turn on the video game.
There is also nothing new on the back of the console. The video game continues with the same inputs as the conventional model, including the proprietary port to increase its capacity with easily detachable SSDs.
New Xbox Series X could be cheaper
In addition to the absence of the reader, the new version of the console should present other small changes. According to eXputer, the new model has some improved internal components and a new heatsink to cool the video game.
In turn, the most interesting part of the information released by eXputer is related to the price and launch date. The new Xbox Series X model should cost between $50 and $100 less than the conventional model scheduled for launch in June or July this year.
Before images of the console appeared on the internet, it is worth remembering that some documents from the FTC case had revealed that Microsoft actually had plans to launch a version of its most powerful video game with these features.
