WhatsApp releases new feature to speed up users’ lives

Have you ever been in that situation where you receive a video on WhatsApp and would like to advance to a specific part without having to drag the progress bar and, almost always, losing the desired point?

If yes, the latest update brings a practical solution that promises to make life easier for application users, especially those with iOS devices.

Until then, the only way to search for a specific moment in a video was to use the timeline at the bottom of the screen, a task that was not always easy.

Now, inspired by features already present on other platforms, such as YouTube, WhatsApp introduces fast forwarding and rewinding of videos by double-tapping the sides of the screen.

How does the new WhatsApp feature work?

The new feature will allow fast forward or rewind the video in 10 second intervalsproviding an experience of more agile visualization and satisfactory.

To rewind a video, simply double-tap on the right side of the screen, while to rewind the video, simply double-tap on the left side of the screen.

For now, this functionality will be available exclusively to iPhone usersas the feature is still in the testing phase in Beta versions of the application for iOS devices.

When will the feature arrive on Android devices?

There is still no official date released by Meta, the company responsible for WhatsApp, for the release of this new feature on the Android platform.

However, the expectation is that, as often happens, news also arrives for the Google system in a near future.
