Virtual reality glasses for Xbox are a special edition of Meta Quest 3

Finally, almost eight years after PlayStation launched the PS VR, Microsoft will actually have virtual reality glasses – and the person who announced the news was… Meta. This happens because Mark Zuckerberg’s company will be responsible for bringing this technology to Xbox.

“We are working together again [com a Microsoft] to create limited edition Meta Quests, inspired by Xbox”, said the owner of Facebook, in a statement that can be read online, about Meta’s new mixed reality ecosystem.

For now, no further details are known about this model, but from what the company says, they will be very similar to the Meta Quest 3, the most recent version of these VR glasses. According to a post by Zuckerberg on Instagram, this headset already comes with “Xbox controllers and a Game Pass” included, so that it is possible to “start playing immediately, anywhere”.

In the same statement, Meta also says that Asus and Lenovo have committed to the development of new virtual/augmented reality headsets with Snapdragon chips, compatible with their new ecosystem, Meta Horizon OS.

Remember that Microsoft even had a Kinect-based VR system in development to be used with the Xbox One X, but the project never became a reality. The company also has HoloLens, but only for professional applications.
